Residents of Obazu Autonomous Community in Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, have expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi, Member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, following the delivery of a new 500KVA transformer to the community. The transformer, delivered on Sunday, July 12, 2026, is expected to significantly improve electricity supply to Umuchimawiri Village and adjoining areas, providing relief to households, businesses, schools, and artisans who have long contended with unstable power supply.
The project marks a significant milestone in Hon. Akarachi Amadi’s ongoing rural electrification initiative, as Obazu Autonomous Community becomes the first community within the constituency to benefit from two transformers under the programme. The first transformer was previously installed at Obilubi Village, while the newly delivered 500KVA transformer is aimed at strengthening electricity distribution across other parts of the community. The delivery was carried out by the constituency team led by the Director of the Constituency Office, Hon. Sir Chinedu Ugochukwu Obidinma.
The occasion attracted a large gathering of residents, community leaders, youths, and stakeholders who welcomed the delegation with songs, prayers, and expressions of appreciation. Community members described the intervention as a timely and impactful response to a critical need, noting that improved electricity supply would stimulate economic activities, enhance security, and improve living conditions across the affected areas.
