Following the reported abduction of passengers along the Umunoha axis of Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi today visited the scene to assess the situation and engage with relevant security officials.
During the visit, the lawmaker held discussions with senior officials on the ongoing search-and-rescue efforts and urged the security agencies to sustain their operations until all those still in captivity are safely rescued.
Hon. Akarachi commended the security agencies for their prompt response and the successful rescue of 10 victims so far, while stressing the need for continued coordination, intelligence gathering and decisive action to secure the safe return of the remaining victims.
He also expressed concern for the affected families and called for calm and vigilance as security agencies continue their operations.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to working with relevant authorities and stakeholders to support efforts aimed at protecting lives and ensuring the safety of residents and commuters along the affected axis.
